This project from the Bartlett University in London prototypes structures with continuous non-developable surfaces using holographic guides in augmented reality. The project was part of the BPro Research Cluster 9 led by Soomeen Hahm & Alvaro Lopez Rodriguez in 2017/18. This project was completed by students Yi Lin, Yushi Gao, Yang Song and Jiayi Liu.
The project molds heated ‘WBA’ sheet material in combination with EVA foam to create the curved surface geometries. Each sheet is bent and formed into place through a guide using Fologram. These sheets then form a greater whole of a continuous non-developable surface.
