Alexander Grasser, Alexandra Parger and Urs Hirschberg have used Fologram to assist in the assembly of stacked timber structures during a remote design studio at TU Graz called Collaborative Matter(s). The irregular distribution of parts makes the project cumbersome to describe using 2D drawings, and a single 3D model on the HoloLens provided accurate guidance for the structure to be assembled. Mixed reality also enabled fabrication information to be synchronized with design information despite design taking place remotely during the pandemic.
