Gilles Retsin has used Fologram in the construction and assembly of the ‘Real Virtuality’ exhibition at the Royal Academy in London. Gilles explained his description of the project: ‘We used AR to send instructions directly from the digital model to the team working on site. AR therefore helps us understand what a fully-automated construction process would look like, where a digital model communicates directly with people and robots on site.’
The project used Fologram to overlay a digital model of the envisioned design in the exhibition space, indicating the position of the new intervention. The timber blocks in the design are modular and the design is not fixed, meaning adaptations can be made during assembly, resulting in a more efficient construction process.
