Holotectonics was a workshop run by Matias del Campo and Sandra Manninger from the University of Michigan (Umich) and SPAN Architects for the DigitalFUTURES Shanghai 2019 Summer Workshop. The projects explored a series of discrete repeatable elements assembled as an gallery isntallation.
The project uses augmented reality by projecting holographic guides to for the precise location of each element in the assembly. Participants in the workshop created an application with Fologram that allowed them to interact with a holographic instruction set, by only displaying certain elements at a particular moment in the assembly.
