Dan Parker and Stanislav Roudavski from the University of Melbourne have used Fologram and the HoloLens to assist in assembling designs from foam and 3D printed blocks. These structures are intended to provide nesting cavities for the Powerful Owl, and their irregular form is necessitated by the complex geometries of the trees to which they are attached. Mixed reality models are used to guide the placement of 8 different 3D printed models to ensure adequate drainage and an exact fit with 3D scans of neighbouring tree boughs.
