Prototype made from pre-formed boxboard strips.
Each strip is generated digitally using a process similar to the example of simulating developable strips. These strips are pre-formed one by one using the digital model as a guide, and the thick card hold it’s form enough to be assembled into cantilevering double-curved forms.
Basketecture is an example of also pre-fabricating joints between strips, while the Veneer Prototype, Barkitecture or the Paper Isosurface are examples of forming strips in-situ without an explicit digital model of each part.
