Rosie Gunzburg has created a series of objects called Stitch that utilize holographic guides to assist with folding, assembling and handpainted enameling of small lasercut steel pieces. The holographic model assists with fabricating these objects in precise parts and eliminates the need for corrections after welding. Using digital models to both generate and illustrate the enamelling patterns gives the artist a high degree of the final outcome of the piece while also enabling room for adjustments and adaptation when working with the fluid enamel.

This approach could scale well to larger structures, such as those completed by students at the University of Michigan
