FlowMorph is a project completed by Barlett students Eri Sumitomo, Jie Sun and Yu-Hsin Huang in BPro Research Cluster 9 led by Soomeen Hahm & Alvaro Lopez Rodriguez in 2017/18.
The project developed a fabrication pipeline that executes digitally generated form with plastic stretching technique. This crafting process is highly delicate which would have been very difficult to achieve by machine fabrication. In the same time, as the specificity of the geometry, it was only possible to be fabricated by using Fologram with the HoloLens. The research also explored ways to design and generate digital models using human gesture thanks to the gesture recognition function available in the device.
