Updating Fologram for Rhino

To work with Fologram for Quest you will need to install the latest release of Fologram for Rhino. This release includes support for link codes that allow the quest to connect to Rhino sessions without scanning QR codes.

  1. Update Fologram for Rhino
    1. Run XRUpdate
    2. Download and install the latest build

We suggest frequently running this command to check for updates when using alpha builds.

Connecting to your first session

Open Rhino and run the Fologram command to display the Fologram plugin window. Click Connect to display the connection screen.
  1. Rhino will now provide a PIN code next to the QR code. You can use this to connect to your Quest.
  1. On your Quest, launch Fologram and enter the 4 digit connection code. Then click connect.
  1. Alternatively, if your session is automatically discovered Fologram for Quest will hide the numeric keypad and display a button for your active session. Just tap it to connect!
  1. To locate a model with the quest, point your controller at a surface where you want to place your rhino origin, then press and hold the trigger while pointing in the direction you want to orient the x-axis. Release the trigger to confirm. For precise and repeatable placement, you can also use Anchors.

Fologram for Quest Menu

To open the Fologram for HoloLens menu on the Quest, press the hamburger (=) icon on the left hand controller. If you’re using hand tracking, you can open the menu by looking at your left palm and pinching your thumb and forefinger together. The same gestures and buttons will close the menu.
You can navigate the menu by pointing at menu items with either controller and pressing the trigger. If you’re using hand tracking, you can use near touch to interact with buttons in the menu.
