This project from the Bartlett University in London prototypes intricate woven steel structures using holographic guides for assembly in Fologram. The project was part of the BPro Research Cluster 9 led by Soomeen Hahm & Alvaro Lopez Rodriguez in 2018/19. This project was completed by students Teng Wang, Minzhe Song, Danping Meng, Rouxi Lyu, Siwei Qin.
The project aims to craft a metal structure in a way that achieves contemporary aesthetics coupled with the richness and exuberance found in traditional ironwork. The project uses Fologram to assemble a series of scaffolding props that hold the ironwork in place, and then uses holographic guides to accurately assemble the complex aggregation of steel.
